St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School, Building and Grounds Shop

Adaptive Reuse

This design solution transformed an unused and decaying structure into a highly functional maintenance shop for the facility and grounds team. The result was achieved through the demolition of the main level and roof framing and converting the basement of a space into a utilitarian, function-driven space. In tandem, the building also had to be reimagined as a building fitting in with the architectural language of the school campus, while leveraging the sunken aspect of the adapted structure to downplay its presence.
