Congressional School, Faculty Room
Adaptive Reuse
Through this project, a former boiler room complete with cold concrete floors and decaying plaster ceiling was transformed into a warm, welcoming space for the faculty. Prior to this work, the faculty had no place to call their own and spent their breaks mostly in their own classrooms. This new space is a destination now for the faculty for either individual relaxation and refreshment, class planning, small group discussions, or team planning meetings. A sound-proof phone booth is provided for sensitive calls.
