This project called for the ambitious transformation of a cafeteria into a true multi-functioning space. Moveable partitions were carefully planned out to allow for multiple orientations to adapt to any need the school might have. Form follows function everywhere in this design. The ceiling tracks for the moveable partitions provided an opportunity for a hanging coffered ceiling. The circular “clouds” suspended within the coffers act as sound control to improve the acoustic environment whether it is a room full of children enjoying lunch or a stage for a lecture or performance.
