Congressional School, Portico Replacement

When the original wooden portico began to show signs of decay, O’Brien & Keane was commissioned to design a replacement that would be durable and would equal the dignity of the original classical portico welcoming all visitors to the Congressional School’s campus. The classical proportions and detailing of the original façade were improved upon and the entablature and cornice were extended along the adjacent walls to further incorporate the entire façade. A new coat of arms was mounted above the entry doors.
